By converting 3 existing floors and an empty roof space into 8 modern loft apartments this Victorian factory building has been changed from a 'place to work' to a 'place to live'. A new entrance and staircase have been positioned between private gardens and a communal barbeque and play area. The architecture draws references the historical use of the building as a Hat Factory, and themes of plaiting and weaving are reflected in the materials used - mesh balustrades, concrete worktops, solid oak flooring and woven willow screens.
