HUT’s proposal for a Forest Garden has been shortlisted in Waltham Forest’s ‘Making Places’ competition 2019. The competition seeks proposals to enliven 3 different site across the borough. HUT’s reinterpretation of ‘the forest’ aims to return a natural habitat to the residential neighbourhood of Bulwer Road and revitalise an unloved space. Responding to the rapid urbanisation of Leytonstone in the late 1890s, we set out to revalue the connection with our lost natural habitats. Local residents were consulted and HUT presented to the judging panel in December. Fingers crossed! See more about the proposal and other shortlisted schemes here.
