Sandbanks

Dorset

Designed as a beach hut, the newly crafted home is set amongst the desirable peninsula of Sandbanks, Dorset. The materials selected for the building were chosen for their ability to blend with the coastal landscape as well as for their capacity to adapt and develop over time, making them more beautiful and interesting. Untreated larch cladding was chosen for its durability making the structure more resilient to the corrosive sea winds. Hard-wearing materials were selected for the interior meaning this family home has the capacity for fourteen people and to be rented out in the holidays. Interior furniture was selected by Baldwin Harris. Photography by Jim Potter
